The CLE discusses what to do if you are approached by a client to conduct an internal investigation of their company related to alleged corporate wrongdoing. The program discusses internal investigation best practices, including, determining when to investigate, how to prepare of the investigation, interviewing witnesses, creating investigation reports, and attorney-client privilege issues related to internal investigations.
Anders Folk: Anders is a partner at Stinson Leonard Street who focuses his practice on securities litigation, white collar criminal defense, and government and internal investigations. Prior to joining Stinson, Anders was an assistant United States attorney in the District of Minnesota. During his time at the United States Attorney’s office, Anders tried 15 jury trials to verdict, briefed and argued numerous cases before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and led complex, long-term grand jury investigations.
Matthew Forsgren: Matt is an attorney at Greene Espel who represents clients in civil, administrative, and criminal proceedings and investigations across the country. Corporate clients turn to Matt to conduct internal investigations in various complex matters. Matt’s knowledge and experience in internal investigations has resulted in him serving as an adjunct professor in one of the only law-school courses in the country concerning best practices in internal investigations.
